Venice

Couple photography among the canals

St Mark's Square, empty. Only pigeons, water lapping gently against the gondolas and the first light on the lagoon.

Venice is a city without cars and without hurry. A city you discover on foot.

This is the moment we came here to keep.

Why Venice

A city on the water

Canals, bridges, palaces in faded colours. Venice is like no other city, and every alley ends at the water.

For a couple this means atmosphere at every step: a bridge over a quiet canal, a gondola ride, the colours of Burano.

It is the perfect place for an after-wedding session a few days after the wedding, for a pre-wedding shoot before the big day, or for an elopement just for the two of you.

The light

Three moments of the day, three different stories

In Venice the water reflects the light and spreads it everywhere. Mornings are soft and silvery, sunsets peach-coloured.

Sunrise

The square

St Mark's without people and the gondolas moored along the waterfront.

Morning

The canals

Quiet alleys, small bridges and light reflected on the walls.

Sunset

The lagoon

Pink and gold on the water, the most romantic sky of the day.

The places

Where we photograph

We plan the route together, depending on the light, the tide and how much you want to walk.

  • St Mark's SquareThe most famous square, only in the first light.
  • Rialto BridgeThe great bridge over the Grand Canal.
  • CastelloQuiet canals and neighbourhoods, away from the crowds.
  • Gondola rideThe city from the water, the way it was meant to be seen.
  • BuranoThe island of colourful houses, just outside Venice.

Before you travel

Seasons, timing and what to wear

When to come

Spring and autumn have mild weather and fewer people. In winter the fog gives a mysterious atmosphere. In autumn and winter we may meet the acqua alta, the tide that floods parts of the city for a few hours.

The time that matters

We start before sunrise for St Mark's, before the visitors arrive. Then we get lost in the small canals.

Styling

Venice loves a little drama: a dress with a train, a velvet jacket, deep colours. And shoes for many steps, bridges and stairs.

The experience with us

We know the canals that stay quiet

We have photographed here in every season. We know which bridge stays empty, where the light falls on the canals and how to get around by vaporetto. So you live your day, and we take care of the rest.

  1. Before the tripWe talk about dates, styling and the kind of images that move you. We plan the route together.
  2. The square at sunriseWe start in the dark to find St Mark's empty.
  3. The canalsWalking, bridges, a few gentle directions. We do not stage poses; we let you be together.
  4. The gondolaA ride on the water, the most classic and most tender moment.
  5. Sunset on the lagoonA pink sky over the water, the end of a beautiful day.

Frequently asked questions

What is the acqua alta?

It is the tide that, mainly in autumn and winter, floods parts of the city for a few hours. We follow the forecasts and adapt the route.

Can we be photographed in a gondola?

Yes, and it is one of the most beautiful moments of the shoot.

Do you travel from Greece for the shoot?

Yes. We travel with you or meet you there. Travel and accommodation costs are discussed from the start, so you know the full amount before you book.

Can we also have a film?

Yes, the photography can be combined with a wedding film. See examples on our Films page.

How early should we book?

The earlier the better, especially for the most popular seasons. Tell us your dates and we will let you know our availability.
