Bride and groom on Red Square with St Basil's Cathedral at sunset

Moscow

Couple photography among domes and city lights

Red Square, empty, early in the morning. The colourful domes of St Basil's, the red walls of the Kremlin and a silence you do not expect in such a big city.

Moscow is grand and unpredictable. A city of contrasts, where Europe meets the East.

This is the moment we came here to keep.

Why Moscow

A city on a grand scale

Domes like candy, imperial buildings, wide avenues, and a little further on the glass skyscrapers of Moscow City. Moscow has a theatricality few cities can match.

For a couple this means images with drama and elegance: a square in the first light, a park in autumn, the city lights as darkness falls.

It is the perfect place for an after-wedding session a few days after the wedding, for a pre-wedding shoot before the big day, or for an elopement just for the two of you.

The light

Three moments of the day, three different stories

In Moscow the light changes a lot with the season: long, bright days in summer, low sun and snow in winter. We build the session around that.

Sunrise

The square

Red Square and St Basil's without people, in the first pink light.

Day

The parks

Trees, ponds and open spaces for walking and quiet moments.

Evening

The lights

Illuminated buildings, bridges and the city sky in the deep blue of dusk.

The places

Where we photograph

We plan the route together, depending on the light, the season and the distances, which in Moscow are long.

  • Red SquareSt Basil's and the Kremlin walls, ideal in the first light.
  • Zaryadye ParkThe "floating" bridge over the river, with views of the Kremlin.
  • GUMThe historic arcade with its glass roof.
  • Patriarch's PondsA quiet, elegant neighbourhood around the pond.
  • Moscow CityThe glass skyscrapers, ideal for modern evening frames.
  • Sparrow HillsA panoramic view over the whole city.

Before you travel

Seasons, timing and what to wear

When to come

From May to September the days are long and the parks green, and in September autumn paints the city gold. Winter is cold, but with snow Moscow looks like a fairy tale.

The time that matters

For Red Square we start early, before the crowds. Some locations have security checks and rules, so we plan the route in advance.

Styling

Moscow suits something more formal: an elegant dress, a dark suit, a coat with character. Deep colours, black, burgundy and emerald blend with the colours of the city. In winter, warm clothes between frames.

The experience with us

We know where to be and when

We have photographed here in different seasons. We know when the square empties, how to get around quickly by metro and where to find quiet in such a big city. So you live your day, and we take care of the rest.

  1. Before the tripWe talk about dates, styling and the kind of images that move you. We plan the route together.
  2. The square at sunriseWe start early to find Red Square quiet.
  3. The cityParks, arcades and neighbourhoods, a few gentle directions. We do not stage poses; we let you be together.
  4. A breakTea in an old café, rest and warming up.
  5. Evening among the lightsThe city illuminated, the most cinematic part of the day.

Do you travel from Greece for the shoot?

Can we also have a film?

Yes, the photography can be combined with a wedding film. See examples on our Films page.

How early should we book?

The earlier the better, especially for the most popular seasons. Tell us your dates and we will let you know our availability.
