Wedding Venues in Achaia: Patra, Aigio and West of Patra

Insights · A guide for your wedding

The venue is where you will spend most of your wedding day. It is also the setting for the most relaxed photos: the evening light, your first dance, your friends on the dance floor.

In this guide you will find wedding estates and reception venues in Patra, in Aigio and west of Patra where we have photographed weddings, and what to look for in a venue from a photographer's point of view.

What to look for in a venue, as photographers

  • Where the sun sets. A venue facing west gives the most beautiful light for your couple photos. See also our table of sunset times in Patra for your date.
  • A chapel on the estate. Some estates have their own chapel. Ceremony and reception in the same place means less travelling and more time for photos.
  • Distance from the church. If the ceremony takes place in another church, allow for the drive. Every minute in the car is a minute less in the light.
  • Lighting in the evening. String lights, lanterns and lit trees make a big difference to evening photos.
  • A backup for the weather. Ask whether there is an indoor space or a marquee in case of rain or strong wind.

Patra

Ktima Panagiotopoulou

In Lampiri, on the old Patras–Athens national road, in a secluded cove right on the sea. It has its own sandy beach, a headland reaching into the sea, a stone hall and a large outdoor area full of greenery. The sea and the beach give photos you rarely find at a wedding venue. Because it lies between Patra and Aigio, it suits weddings in both cities.

Ktima Idilofon

In Platani, Rio, on a hill among olive groves. It has two levels, a pool and a view of the Rio–Antirrio bridge. In the evening, the string lights above the pool make one of the loveliest night-time scenes in the area.

Achaia Clauss

The historic winery founded by the Bavarian Gustav Clauss in the 19th century, above Patras. Castle-style stone buildings, old courtyards, gardens and vineyards, with views over the Gulf of Patras. A place with history, ideal for couples who want something different. See more photos on the page for Achaia Clauss.

Agouridis Estate

In Thea, about 11 kilometres from the centre of Patra, on a hill. Large old trees, lawns and a view of the Gulf of Patras, with beautiful sunsets.

Omega Yacht Club

Between Patra and Rio, quite literally on the waves. An open space on all sides, surrounded by greenery. The sea is in every frame.

W Rio

In Rio, a venue for couples who want their reception to become a party.

Aigio

Ktima Panagiotopoulou

For weddings in Aigio, Ktima Panagiotopoulou in Lampiri is easy to reach, right on the sea, with its own beach. See its description above, in the Patra section.

Liopetro

In Foniskaria, Aigialeia, with a view of Aigio and the Corinthian Gulf. It has a large outdoor area with lawns, olive trees, stone paths and lanterns, an indoor hall with a fireplace and a large terrace. On the estate stands the stone chapel of Agia Lydia, so the ceremony and the reception take place in the same place.

Ktima Karoumpalou

In Digeliotika, a few kilometres outside Aigio. A lush green garden with large trees and a small chapel on the estate, where the ceremony can also take place. In the evening, the string lights among the trees give warm, atmospheric photos.

West of Patra, on the road to Pyrgos

Marianna Palace

In Bontaiika, at the 33rd kilometre of the Patras–Pyrgos road. A reception hall with a large courtyard.

Epavlis

Near Marianna Palace, on the same road towards Pyrgos.

Minore

In Kapeleto, at the 47th kilometre of the Patras–Pyrgos road. A decorated hall, a large fountain at the entrance, palm trees and large old trees.

The details for each venue come from the venues' official channels and from our own experience. For capacity, availability and prices, contact the venue directly.
