Insights · A guide for your wedding
A Venetian harbour with walls and plane trees, a castle that embraces the town from above, stone alleys and the sea everywhere. Nafpaktos is one of the most photogenic towns for a wedding in the whole region, and many of the couples we photograph come from there.
In this guide you will find the churches of Nafpaktos, the spots in town that make your photos special, where the reception can take place, and how to plan the day so you catch the best light.

The churches of Nafpaktos
Agia Paraskevi is one of the central parishes of Nafpaktos. This is where we photographed Vasilis and Dimitra's wedding. The wide steps in front of the entrance are one of the most beautiful spots for the bride's arrival and for photos with the guests after the ceremony.

The town has other beautiful churches too, such as the one where Konstantinos and Alexandra were married, its arches decorated with flowers. High up in the castle, the small stone chapel of Prophet Elias is one of the most picturesque spots in town.
In town, Agios Stefanos is another church where many Nafpaktos weddings take place.
Just outside town, Panagitsa in Marathias is a chapel that many couples from the Nafpaktos area choose for a quieter, more personal wedding.

Spots around town for your photos
The Venetian harbour
The emblem of Nafpaktos. A small, enclosed harbour with stone walls, the statues of Cervantes and Anemogiannis on the ramparts, and two huge plane trees shading the square. In its waters, in 1571, the Battle of Lepanto was fought. Few places in Greece give so much history in a single frame.
The castle
The Venetian castle high above the town, built where ancient fortifications once stood. Its stone walls and the view over the town, the harbour and the sea give some of the strongest couple photos in the whole region.

The old town
Stone alleys, the Sideroporta gate linking the fortified quarter to the harbour, Botsaris Tower and the town clock. Ideal for a couple's walk among history and greenery.
Psani and Gribovo
The two beaches on either side of the harbour, with their large plane trees and the sea right beside them. For couples who want photos by the water without leaving town.
The reception
Vasilis and Dimitra continued their evening at Ktima Papavasileiou in Makyneia, a seaside village west of Antirrio. An estate with a garden and warm lighting, which at night becomes a very atmospheric setting for the party.

How to plan the day for the best light
- Allow time for the castle or the harbour. After the ceremony, a short stop with the couple at the castle or the harbour gives photos you will remember forever. We discuss in advance when and where it fits into your schedule.
- Check the sunset time. Nafpaktos is very close to Patra, so the sunset times table for Patra gives you a very good picture.
- In summer, the town is busy. There are people at the harbour and the castle. With good planning, we find the moments and the angles for clean frames.
