Insights · A guide for your wedding
“How much does it cost?” is usually the first question a couple asks a wedding photographer. It's a fair question, but on its own it tells you almost nothing. Two quotes for the same amount can describe two completely different days.
In this guide you'll find the price ranges you'll come across in Patra and across Greece, what lies behind each figure and how to compare quotes so you know exactly what you're paying for.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?
There isn't one price. There are ranges, and within each range the differences can be large. From what we see in the market, the figures look roughly like this:
| Range | What you'll usually find |
|---|---|
| €1,500 – €2,500 | The most common bracket. This is also where the biggest differences in team, hours of coverage and deliverables are found, so it calls for the most careful checking. |
| €2,500 – €4,500 | Usually experienced photographers with a strong reputation and a steady team. |
| Up to €10,000 | Photographers with a particularly well-known name. A photographer of this kind, working alone and offering photography only, can reach this amount. |
These figures are indicative and vary with the date, the location and what each proposal includes.
In Patra, the average cost of a wedding photographer is around €2,500. But that number is only the start of the conversation. What matters is what lies behind it.
Why two quotes at the same price aren't the same
Say two different studios both quote you €2,000. In one case, a single team may come and have to split its time between the bride's house and the groom's. In the other, two teams cover both preparations at the same time. The price is the same; the day you'll be left with is not.
The same goes for the people. Four people on the schedule doesn't necessarily mean four professionals. It may be two professionals and two assistants. Ask who will be there, what their role is and whether you've seen their work.

How we work
At our studio, we cover every wedding exclusively with a double team: four photography and video professionals, not two professionals and two assistants. We do this out of respect for your day. The bride's and groom's preparations usually happen at the same time, and neither deserves to be covered in a hurry or by someone who is still learning.
You can meet the people behind the camera on our about page and see complete weddings in our wedding stories .
What determines the price
Beyond tangible items such as the album, the price is shaped mainly by things you won't see in a quote at first glance:
- The team. How many people come, whether they are all professionals and whether there is double coverage.
- The quality of the photography and film team. Their experience, their eye and how consistent they are from one wedding to the next.
- Delivery time. How long you'll wait for your photos and film, and whether this is written into the agreement.
- Hours of coverage. From what moment to what moment the team will be with you.
- Deliverables. Digital files, albums, a wedding film, a pre-wedding or after-day session.
- Travel. Whether the wedding takes place outside the city, and whether there are travel or accommodation costs.

How to compare quotes
Before you look at the final figure, put the quotes side by side and answer the same questions for each one:
- How many professionals are coming, and how many of them are assistants?
- Is there double coverage of the preparations?
- Is video included, and by which team?
- What will you receive, and how soon?
- Are there extra charges for hours, travel or accommodation?
- What is the final amount, including VAT?
If one quote is cheaper, find out which of the points above it differs on. For more questions to ask, see our guide on how to choose a wedding photographer.

At the end of the day, it isn't the price that decides
It isn't money that defines a photographer. It's the quality of their work, their team, their experience, what they deliver and how long it takes them to deliver it.
Your wedding will happen once. The photographs and the film are what will stay with you when everything else is over. It's worth knowing exactly what you're choosing.

Frequently asked questions about the cost of a wedding photographer
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Patra on average?
The average is around €2,500. Prices, however, start at about €1,500 and can reach €10,000, depending on the photographer, the team and the deliverables.
Why do two quotes at the same price differ so much?
Because the price doesn't tell you how many professionals will come, whether there will be double coverage, what you'll receive and when. Ask for all of this to be set out in the quote.
What does double coverage mean?
It means two teams cover the bride's and the groom's preparations at the same time, so no moment is lost because the team was somewhere else.
How long until we receive our photos?
It varies from photographer to photographer, and it's part of what you're paying for. At our studio, photos are delivered 6 to 8 weeks after the wedding.
